About the role
Immediate job openings for dependable CDL B Route Relief Drivers to provide relief/backup support when drivers are on vacation or other time off. May provide on-call relief, cover partial trips, or fill in due to staffing needs. You will demonstrate knowledge of multiple delivery routes, operate a straight truck or pup truck, and deliver products safely and on time according to the route schedule.
Responsibilities
- Operate a straight truck or pup truck to deliver dairy products in a safe and timely manner to customers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of routes, including participating in route rides to keep active knowledge.
- Demonstrate high standards of customer service.
- Communicate frequently with peers, supervisors, and others.
- Follow DOT procedures, rules, and requirements.
- Calculate load size and record accurate volume/weight measurements.
- Contribute to positive performance behaviors through personal example.
- Proactively seek solutions and take appropriate steps to solve problems.
- Work collaboratively and foster good teamwork.
- Follow directions, meet deadlines, and interpret and apply company policies.
- Adapt to change effectively and perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Maintain good organization and record-keeping skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Up to 2 years of experience driving a straight truck or pup truck within the last 5 years (preferred).
- Valid Class B/Class B with Air Brake CDL.
- Must meet minimum age requirements and DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records.
- Must meet all DOT requirements.
- Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements.
- Proficient computer usage skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills for calculating load size and recording measurements.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be punctual and able to work with minimal supervision.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday.
- Start time ranges from 2:00 am to 4:00 am (until complete), based on route coverage.
Pay
Average earnings are $1300 to $1500 per week.
