Route Coverage Specialist - UniFirst
At UniFirst, we deliver exceptional service to our customers and support our team members in dynamic roles. As a Route Coverage Specialist, you’ll play a key part in maintaining seamless operations by covering delivery routes when our Route Service Representatives (RSRs) are unavailable.
About the Role
This fast-paced position is ideal for someone proactive, adaptable, and who thrives on variety. You’ll ensure our customers receive consistent, high-quality service by stepping in across multiple routes.
Responsibilities
- Develop proficiency across multiple routes, including customer-specific details, to provide top-tier service.
- Deliver garments and products to customers: safely load, transport, and unload clean garments, flat goods, and other items along established routes.
- Collect and secure used or soiled garments and products for return, ensuring timely and accurate service.
- Provide excellent customer service through positive interactions, clear communication, and problem-solving to maintain customer loyalty.
- Resolve customer requests independently while ensuring satisfaction.
- Manage invoices accurately, conduct inventory audits, and maintain the safety and appearance of your vehicle.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies to ensure personal and customer safety.
- Collaborate with Service and Management Teams to support new account installations, assist RSRs, contribute to rerouting efforts, and handle collections.
- Upsell products and strengthen customer relationships.
- Share customer feedback and potential solutions with location leadership, and stay informed about competitor activity in the local market.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, including a physical exam.
- High school diploma, GED, or military service required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
- Prior experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery roles is a plus.
- Comfortable using and learning new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 50 lbs., with the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
