About the role

The Air Ambulance Pilot ensures the safe and efficient transportation of patients in emergency medical missions. Responsibilities include operating aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, planning and executing flights considering weather, weight, and fuel requirements, and collaborating with medical teams, ground crew, and dispatch for seamless missions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate aircraft safely per regulations and protocols
  • Plan flights, considering weather, weight, and fuel
  • Coordinate with medical staff, ground crew, and dispatch
  • Respond to emergency callouts and maintain readiness
  • Maintain accurate logs and uphold professional standards

Qualifications & Skills

  • FAA certifications: Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
  • Minimum of 2,500 helicopter flight hours, including night and instrument experience
  • Strong skills in flight planning, communication, decision-making, situational awareness, and safety compliance
  • Physical ability to perform pre/post-flight inspections, lift up to 50 pounds, and tolerate environmental conditions
  • Preferred: Experience with air ambulance services, Night Vision Goggles, turbine engines, and living near the base
