Roto Mold Associate 2nd Shift

Job Summary

The Roto Mold Associate is responsible for setting up roto molds for production and removing finished products from the molds, while ensuring that quality specifications are met.

Essential Functions

  • Assembles and disassembles molds.
  • Makes sure roto mold machines are running properly while operating them.
  • Removes and cleans excess material from the products.
  • Checks products for quality control purposes.
  • Tests products for defects using water or air.
  • Aids in changing materials, colors, and products.
  • Cuts wires and wraps products using stencils and decals.

General Functions

  • Collaborates with other members of the production team to meet deadlines and deliver products on time.
  • Follows safety rules and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment like safety shoes and glasses.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Identifies and reports quality or safety issues to supervisors or managers.
  • Works effectively with co-workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve production goals in a timely manner, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Attention to detail: Ability to accurately inspect and assemble parts to engineering specifications.
    • Time management skills: Ability to work efficiently and keep up with machine rotation to ensure product quality and consistency.
    • Communication skills: Good verbal and written communication skills are important to work effectively with other team members.
    • Teamwork: Ability to work and achieve results as part of a team and have accountability for the assigned tasks.
    • Basic math skills: Basic arithmetic skills are necessary for accurately counting parts and identifying part numbers.
    • Attention to safety: Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines when using equipment to maintain a safe work environment.
    • Follow directions: Ability to follow established procedures while performing tasks, using tools, and handling materials.
    • Dependability: Reliability and consistency of attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks according to established standards and expectations with little supervision.
  • Preferred Education And Experience:
    • A high school diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience.
    • At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Physical dexterity: The employee must be able to bend, twist, and reach while handling boxes and using power and hand tools. The employee is also required to stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, and to hear.
  • Lifting: The employee must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis, and items weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Vision: The vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Endurance: The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to elements: The employee will be working in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions. There will also be frequent exposure to heat, dirt, dust and water.
  • Noise level: The employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels in the workplace for the majority of the day, due to the constant use of forklift and hand-held power tools.
