About the role

Facilitate inquiry-based, hands-on learning activities focusing on STEM concepts and practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary science, technology, engineering, and math using safe STEM materials and equipment.
• Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving through integrated technology and collaborative learning.
• Create an engaging and organized learning environment that fosters curiosity while maintaining classroom safety and expectations.

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience working in a classroom setting.
• Associate's degree or 48 semester hours from an accredited college.
• Past completion of the ParaPro assessment.
• Experience as a licensed educator preferred.
• Experience in PE, STEM, or Fine Arts preferred.
• Completion of an online classroom management training provided within the first 30 calendar days of employment.

Pay

• Rotation Assistant I Lane 3
• Rotation Assistant II Lane 4
• To be eligible to advance to Rotation Assistant II, the incumbent must complete one year as a Rotation Assistant I and 20 hours of advanced training in P.E., STEM or Fine Arts provided by the Teaching & Learning department.
• To be eligible for Rotation Assistant III, the incumbent must be a current or former licensed teacher.
