About the Role
Rotation assistants teach grades K-6 in specialized enrichment subjects such as STEM, Music, or other Fine Arts. The exact subject will be tailored to the applicant's unique expertise.
Responsibilities
- Teach STEM (or other assigned enrichment subject) to grades K-6.
- Manage classroom behavior and foster positive student relationships.
- Complete an online classroom management training within the first 30 days of employment.
Requirements
- One year of experience working in a classroom setting.
- One of the following:
- Associate's degree,
- 48 semester hours from an accredited college,
- Passed the ParaPro assessment ($80), or
- Project Para Title I ($15).
- Experience as a licensed educator preferred.
- Experience in PE, STEM, or Fine Arts preferred.
Schedule
- Rotation Assistant (14 hours/week): Mondays and Wednesdays, with some prep time available on Fridays.
- Physical Education (PE) Assistant (25 hours/week): Monday – Thursday (schedule to be determined).
- Subject Assistant (17 hours/week): Monday – Thursday (schedule to be determined).
Pay
Salary follows the Rotation Assistant pay schedule:
- Rotation Assistant I (Lane 3): Starting level.
- Rotation Assistant II (Lane 4): Requires one year as a Rotation Assistant I and completion of 20 hours of advanced training in PE, STEM, or Fine Arts (provided by the Teaching & Learning department).
- Rotation Assistant III (Lane 5): Requires current or former licensed teacher status.
