Rotating Equipment Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance on a variety of rotating equipment including PD plunger pumps, overhung centrifugal booster pumps, vertical process canpumps and multi-stage centrifugal mainline pumps.
  • Provide preventive maintenance on the above mentioned equipment on a scheduled basis.
  • Responsible for setting new equipment and commissioning these new pump packages including laser alignment of the equipment and baseline vibration readings.
  • Aid in determining root cause failure analysis on rotating equipment.
  • Take scheduled vibration analysis on equipment and forward data to Sr Manager of Rotating Equipment.
  • Responsible for assigned service truck which includes Auto Crane, compressor, hand tools and vibration/laser alignment equipment.
  • Provide maintenance support across NuStar’s assets will require 90% travel in service truck, including possible overtime and occasional weekend and holidays worked. DOT driving, which includes electronic logging and obeying all DOT driving laws apply.
  • Attend all safety training, complete all safety training modules and work in a safe and environmentally friendly way. Safety will be the most important part of this job requirement.
  • May perform other related duties as needed.

Required Education

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Mechanical, Technical, Vocational education is beneficial.
  • No experience required. Basic understanding of mechanical makeup of engines and pumps preferred. Machinist experience and equipment mechanical vibration knowledge preferred.
