About the role

The incumbent is responsible for providing comprehensive services to all Public Housing Residents of each Authority under the supervision of the Director of Resident Service. The incumbent also coordinates the FSS-ROSS program, works with local social service agencies, and attends various meetings to disseminate information and updates.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, and implements comprehensive services for Public Housing Residents of all Authorities as outlined in the FSS ROSS Grant HUD program.
  • Carefully monitors and makes reports as required on the FSS ROSS Program.
  • Coordinates activities and events focusing on self-sufficiency and youth educational success.
  • Responds to resident referrals from Property Management Staff.
  • Conducts safety and wellness checks, especially for elders and disabled residents.
  • Attends Resident Council, Family Connection, PCC meetings, and other agency meetings.
  • Prepares requisitions as needed.
  • Ensures all files, reports, and paperwork are complete and accurate before giving to Director of Resident Service for review.
  • Performs general office tasks such as answering the telephone, responding to inquiries, and preparing written correspondence.
  • Attends training sessions offered by HUD, GAHRA, and other agencies.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Sociology, Social Work, or Human Services, or related field.
  • Two years of work experience or an Associates Degree with two years of related experience or training.
  • Three to five years of experience in a social service agency or a related area, with hands-on case management experience.
  • Previous public housing experience is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of HUD rules and regulations.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license and be able to be covered by the HAN insurance.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Must be able to obtain references from previous employers.
  • Must pass a drug and criminal background pre-employment examination.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the general operations and procedures of a Public Housing Agency (PHA).
  • Knowledge of Public Housing regulations and policies.
  • Knowledge of case management practices and procedures and area social services.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regulating the FSS-ROSS program.
  • General knowledge of drug and alcohol abuse and gang problems.
  • Ability to work independently to plan, coordinate, and implement programs and activities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, consultants, residents, the general public, local social service agencies, HUD, and local, state, and federal officials.

Benefits

Salary range: $42,000 – $50,000 plus benefits. This is a granted funded position for 40 hours per week, able to work variable hours. The position is non-exempt and FLSA status applies.

Pay

$42,000 – $50,000 annually, with benefits.
