The Role
The Rooms Inspector ensures associates promptly clean public areas and guest rooms are maintained, cleaned and inspected to standard for resale to incoming guests.
Responsibilities
- Train associates on customer service, cleaning standards, and adherence to the department’s operations.
- Inspect rooms and assigned areas for cleanliness and maintenance.
- Supervise, coach, counsel and train Public Area Attendants, Room Attendants and Linen Runners.
- Issue assignments to staff reviewing special requests and areas of concentration to ensure a smooth flow of the housekeeping operation.
- Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Implement emergency training and procedures to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel, guest, staff and company assets.
- Issue supplies/goods to staff at beginning of shift in order to control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while controlling expenses.
- Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquiries to maintain controls and ensure guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Experience required by position is from one to two years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Housekeeping and the hotel's services, policies and operations.
- Requires supervisory skills.
Skills
- Ability to communicate with guests and staff.
- Ability to inspect guest rooms and review reports.
