Room Service Representative-Food Services Patient 40hrs Biweekly Eves

Shift: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., biweekly hours: 40.00

Responsible for taking food orders through direct patient/customer contact and providing excellent food-related services. With limited direction, performs a variety of clerical duties supporting the Food and Nutrition Services Department. Retrieves, maintains, and/or replaces records/files. Processes patient meal information into the CBORD Nutrition Service Suite program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
• Electronic competency to work with various software programs
• Strong customer service skills, including effective listening skills
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Must pass a food and nutrition skills competency within a 6-month introductory period

Qualifications

• Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology
• Preferred: Knowledge of basic principles of nutrition as related to therapeutic diets
• Preferred: 1 year of experience working in a hospital setting

Physical Requirements

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
• Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required
• May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion
• Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications
• Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents
