Responsibilities
- Handle patient scheduling, appointments, and multi-phone line management
- Gather new patient data and keep track of all patient referrals
- Disseminate information to patients and act as a liaison between patients and physicians
- Send and log all reports to doctors
- Collect payments and verify insurance coverage
- Manage mail distribution to proper areas and personnel
- Send benefits paperwork to billing companies
- Answer phones, address patient questions, and act as a patient liaison
- Coordinate evaluations, re-evaluations, appointment reminders, and cancellations
- Collect new patient intake information and track clinic referrals
- Fax reports to physicians and maintain logs of incoming reports
- Verify insurance, track covered visits, and collect copayments
- Monitor mail for Explanation of Benefits and route to billing company
- Communicate with the office manager and clinicians about scheduling and patient arrivals
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED certificate)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Detail-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Compassionate and empathetic toward patients in pain
- Integrity and professional demeanor
