Responsibilities

  • Handle patient scheduling, appointments, and multi-phone line management
  • Gather new patient data and keep track of all patient referrals
  • Disseminate information to patients and act as a go-between for patients and physicians
  • Send and log all reports sent to doctors
  • Collect all payments and verify insurance
  • Collect/open mail and distribute to proper areas/people
  • Send benefits paperwork to billing companies
  • Handle all scheduling and ensuing communication
  • Answer phones, act as a patient liaison, and address questions from potential or current patients
  • Coordinate evaluations, re-evaluations, appointment reminders, and cancellations
  • Collect new patient intake information and track all clinic referrals
  • Fax reports to physicians and keep a log of incoming reports
  • Verify insurance, track insurance-covered visits, and take copayments
  • Check mail and track Explanation of Benefits sent from mail and fax to billing company
  • Communicate with the office manager and clinicians about scheduling and patient arrival

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service role
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED certificate)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and empathetic
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, and compassion for patients
