Room Attendant (Temporary) / Hotel Housekeeping/Cleaning

About the Role

As a Room Attendant (RA) at Sonesta International Hotels, you will work with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public spaces, and/or operate in the commercial laundry facility. Your role is crucial in delivering the Sonesta Service promise, ensuring total guest satisfaction through adherence to brand standards for time, product, and placement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions, following Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, taking corrective action to ensure satisfaction.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and removing trash.
• Clean kitchen areas, room appliances (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker), and dishware as needed.
• Notify supervisor upon completion of service to release rooms for sale or occupancy.
• Report any rooms unable to be serviced to the supervisor following established procedures.
• When assigned to laundry, monitor supplies and equipment, operate washers/dryers, inspect linens, fold and store clean linens, and report damages.
• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities in all housekeeping areas.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Handle lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other shifts and departments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Experience in the extended stay industry is a plus.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English preferred; other languages beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are preferred.
• Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
• Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Hourly compensation range: $31.77 - $42.37 (follows contract requirements).
