Room Attendant (Temporary) / Hotel Housekeeping

About the role

As a Room Attendant (RA) at Sonesta International Hotels, you’ll work with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public spaces, and/or operate in the commercial laundry facility. Your work ensures every guest experiences the high standards of Sonesta Service across our diverse portfolio of over 1,000 properties in eight countries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest interactions following the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, taking corrective action to ensure satisfaction.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas: make beds, dust, vacuum, sanitize bathrooms, remove trash, and clean kitchen areas (including refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, and dishware).
• Notify supervisor when rooms are ready for occupancy or if a room cannot be serviced.
• Monitor and operate laundry equipment, inspect linens for damage, fold and store clean linens, and report issues to supervisor.
• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Handle lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other shifts and departments.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some previous housekeeping experience preferred; background in the extended stay industry is a plus.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English preferred; other languages beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities.
• Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
• Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Hourly compensation range: $29.90 - $39.87 (follows contract requirements).
