Roofing Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain commercial and residential roofing systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Be on time for all shifts with all personal tools and PPE.
• Work collaboratively with team members, including Foremen, Crew Members, Superintendents, General Superintendent, and Contractors, to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Mentor less-experienced crew members.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients to coordinate project activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist in setup and tear down of safety equipment as instructed.
• Complete required safety training such as fall protection or OSHA.
• Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in all roofing projects.
• Conduct quality inspections to verify roofing systems meet established standards and specifications.
• Maintain and care for roofing tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.
• Perform other duties as needed to support our vision, mission, and organizational values.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Roofer or Roofing Mechanic, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in commercial roofing applications.
• Ability and comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to handle at least 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills

• Sheet metal, slate, and/or tile experience.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
