Romani Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Remote Romani Interpreter to serve clients across various industries. This is an independent contractor position with no employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Romani and English speakers.
• Speak clearly in both languages, using proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
• Ensure punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Adhere to client instructions and follow protocol to meet expectations.
• Understand and apply industry-specific terminology and procedures.
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
• Be prepared to handle emotionally and/or stressful calls.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Romani and English with cultural understanding.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive calls.
• Experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Adaptable to LLS technology enhancements.
• At least 18 years old.
• Licensed to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write Romani and English.
