Responsibilities
- Work from manufacturing schedule
- Operate the extruder to meet daily work schedule
- Unload used rollers from trucks, crates
- Move rollers/crates using fork-truck
- Clean rollers with soda-blaster
- Operate rubber stripping equipment
- Operate roller sanding equipment
- QC check on roller gears, replace out of spec gears
- Prime and paint roller pipe assemblies
- Assemble components into new roller pipe assemblies
- Cross-train – learn to perform other roller operations: extruder, grinding, polishing, finishing
- Assist with cycle counts; maintain inventory counts of used roller cores
- Complete transactions in mfg software with minimal errors (clock-in/out, job on/off, charge material from inventory, receipt material to inventory, scrap material move material from one location to another, etc.)
- Keep machines/work area clean
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Be able to identify and use basic hand tools
- Capable of reading blueprints
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Capable of becoming proficient operating a fork-truck
- Capable of learning to operate roller fab equipment – sanding equipment, soda blaster, stripping machines
- Able to work overtime
- Light domestic travel as required, 1 to 2 weeks per year
- Must be able to meet the functional requirements of the job including the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend/lean over and lift 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Mechanical or fabrication work experience
- Vocational training or college courses
- Experience in the seafood or shrimp industry
- Advanced technical skills – welding, mill/lathe operation, sheet metal, carpentry, auto mechanic, etc.
- Experience with computer software (MS Office, manufacturing software, etc.)
