Robotics Test Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and evaluate motion performance testing on actuators, robotic arms, and multi-axis robotic systems.
- Operate and validate systems across position, velocity, torque/force, and impedance control modes.
- Set up and calibrate test equipment, including encoders, force/torque sensors, IMUs, and motion capture systems.
- Collect, analyze, and report performance data to identify anomalies and support root-cause investigations.
- Maintain and troubleshoot test fixtures, dynamometers, and lab equipment.
- Support prototype integration, wiring, and system bring-up activities.
- Develop automated test procedures and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to establish test requirements and acceptance criteria.
Must Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or a related engineering field.
- Experience configuring and executing performance testing across multiple robotic control modes.
- Experience testing: Robotic systems, Servo motors, Brushless DC motors, Linear actuators, Closed-loop motion control systems.
- Hands-on experience with: Encoders, Force/torque sensors, Accelerometers, Data acquisition systems.
- Proficiency with data analysis and scripting tools such as: Python, MATLAB.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with automated test frameworks and hardware-in-the-loop CI/CD testing.
- Experience with motor drive tuning, including: PID control, Feedforward control, Gain scheduling, Servo commissioning tools.
- Knowledge of: Vibration analysis, Frequency-domain characterization, System identification techniques.
- Experience: Robotics testing, Motion control, Electromechanical systems validation.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.13 - $78.00/hr.
