This is a travel-based role and you will be expected to travel to meet the requirements of your projects across North America, upwards of 75% or more.
Key job responsibilities
- You will support and guide installation of robotics, packaging and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
- You will develop detailed knowledge of the operation of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of these systems both on site and remotely
- You will manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers
- You will collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers including site maintenance and operations teams
- You will travel to project sites and collaborate both virtually and in person to ensure all business stakeholders are aligned on program status
- You will manage day to day project scheduling and budget management
- You will work on continuous improvement activities to improve the projects in your space
- You will generate and implement continuous improvement ideas around work-scopes
- You will lead teams of other engineers on projects
- You will travel to both live warehouses and new construction sites, the scopes may vary significantly in length and include heavy travel
- You will travel to project sites across North America, upwards of 75% or more
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
- Experience working in an engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
- 1+ years' experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models (mechanical and electrical)
- 1+ years' Experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems
- Understanding of data collection, reporting processes, and ability to make data-driven decisions
- Ability to review data to set troubleshoot priorities on highly complex technical systems
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Interest to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment in a field-based role
- Ability to travel domestically 75% or more of the year
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals
- 1-3 years of experience working in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment
- Knowledge of specific robotic equipment (Fanuc, ABB), and Allen Bradley PLC experience
- Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP)
- Certified in OSHA, ANSI, or other Automation Safety Certifications
- Familiarity with LEAN or Six Sigma, certifications are a plus
