Roadway/Transportation Engineer
Dewberry is seeking a Transportation/Roadway Project Engineer for our growing North Carolina offices in either Charlotte or Raleigh. The successful candidate will work on all phases of transportation projects for public and private sector clients, including interchanges, roadway widenings, roundabout design, bridge projects, drainage systems, storm water management, utility relocations, and preparation of contract documents, primarily for NCDOT and public agencies.

Responsibilities
- Design horizontal and vertical road alignments
- Develop drainage systems and storm water management plans
- Conduct traffic studies
- Coordinate utility relocations
- Prepare maintenance of traffic plans
- Create contract documents
- Collaborate with clients, coworkers, sub-consultants, and agency review staff
- Compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communications
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting project budgets
Requirements
- BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- NC PE license, or ability to obtain within 1 year
- 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering
- Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
