Roadway, Traffic Signals, And Lighting Trainee

Position Summary

The Trainee is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of roadway electrical infrastructure including traffic signals, highway lighting, and underground systems. This position focuses on developing foundational construction and electrical skills while working under direct supervision of experienced crew members.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of: Traffic signal components (signal heads, poles, cabinets), Roadway lighting systems (fixtures, poles, wiring), Underground conduit systems and duct banks
• Pull boxes, handholes, and foundations
• Load, unload, and stage materials, tools, and equipment
• Absorb and organize materials safely and efficiently
• Follow direction from Technicians, Electricians, and Foremen

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
• No prior experience required; construction experience is a plus
• Willingness to learn and develop trade skills
