About the Role
NV5 Engineers and Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Roadway Group Manager based in Alpharetta, GA. This position will manage the transportation (roadway design) staff and projects for the Alpharetta office, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and of the highest quality while maintaining positive client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain, and monitor schedules, budgets, and staffing for projects.
- Mentor and train employees.
- Create and execute business plans for the group.
- Market NV5 to GDOT, local municipalities, and other potential clients to obtain new contracts.
- Participate in professional associations and societies.
- Work with the Director of Infrastructure to achieve department goals.
- Complete other assignments as determined by the Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Georgia PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous management experience or 5 years of project management experience.
- Established relationships with business development within the transportation market.
- Previous GDOT project experience, local municipalities, or other state DOT.
- Experience in managing projects and leading project teams.
- Knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The work will primarily be in an office setting with limited exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Responsibilities include:
- Frequent use of fingers for typing, picking, pinching, and grasping, often with repetitive motion.
- Visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, and the ability to talk, hear, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to carry, lift, and push/pull up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Weekend and overtime work, and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
- Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
