Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain and monitor schedules, budgets and staffing for projects.
- Mentor and train employees.
- Create and execute business plans for the group.
- Market NV5 to NCDOT, Charlotte DOT, local municipalities and other potential clients to obtain new contracts.
- Participate in professional associations and societies.
- Work with Southeast Transportation Director to achieve department goals.
- Complete other assignments as determined by the SE Transportation Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- North Carolina PE license, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
- Minimum of 15+ years experience in transportation engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of previous management experience or 10 years of project management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years with business development within the transportation market.
- Previous NC DOT project experience, local municipalities or other state DOT.
- Experience in managing projects and leading project teams.
- Knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work primarily in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
- Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
- Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
