Roadway Group Manager

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain and monitor schedules, budgets and staffing for projects.
• Mentor and train employees.
• Create and execute business plans for the group.
• Market NV5 to NCDOT, Charlotte DOT, local municipalities and other potential clients to obtain new contracts.
• Participate in professional associations and societies.
• Work with Southeast Transportation Director to achieve department goals.
• Complete other assignments as determined by the SE Transportation Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• North Carolina PE license, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Minimum of 15+ years experience in transportation engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of previous management experience or 10 years of project management experience.
• Minimum of 5 years with business development within the transportation market.
• Previous NC DOT project experience, local municipalities or other state DOT.
• Experience in managing projects and leading project teams.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work primarily in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
• Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
• Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
