Responsibilities
- Take on greater responsibility in project delivery, design oversight, and technical decision-making across roadway, highway, intersection, bicycle, and pedestrian projects.
- Mentor junior staff while ensuring high-quality, efficient design outcomes.
- Provide advanced technical support and serve as a design lead on roadway projects.
- Develop conceptual layouts and evaluate design alternatives.
- Lead the design of roadway geometrics and horizontal/vertical alignments.
- Develop and review drainage designs.
- Prepare and oversee construction staging plans.
- Lead development of erosion and sedimentation control designs.
- Prepare and review construction plans and technical documentation.
- Prepare right-of-way plans and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Oversee development of construction staging plans.
- Perform and review other related design tasks.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
- 4–10 years of transportation engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Strong proficiency with CAD and design software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to lead design tasks and coordinate with project teams.
