Responsibilities

  • Take on greater responsibility in project delivery, design oversight, and technical decision-making across roadway, highway, intersection, bicycle, and pedestrian projects.
  • Mentor junior staff while ensuring high-quality, efficient design outcomes.
  • Provide advanced technical support and serve as a design lead on roadway projects.
  • Develop conceptual layouts and evaluate design alternatives.
  • Lead the design of roadway geometrics and horizontal/vertical alignments.
  • Develop and review drainage designs.
  • Prepare and oversee construction staging plans.
  • Lead development of erosion and sedimentation control designs.
  • Prepare and review construction plans and technical documentation.
  • Prepare right-of-way plans and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Oversee development of construction staging plans.
  • Perform and review other related design tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • 4–10 years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD and design software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design tasks and coordinate with project teams.
