We are currently seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer – Project Manager to support and grow our Transportation Practice in our Raleigh, NC office.
Annual Compensation
Annual Compensation: $95,000 – 185,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
Roadway Design Engineer – Project Manager Essential Functions
- Responsible for scope, fees, and the profitability of individual projects as well as a portfolio of projects.
- Point person and firm’s contact with clients while functioning as project manager.
- Aids in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.
- Guides and coordinates all internal LJB transportation disciplines, with sub-consultants, and clients.
- Has a basic understanding of what the other transportation disciplines do and what they require as part of specific projects.
- Responsible for the nine knowledge areas, according to the Project Management Institute (PMI), that are associated with each phase of the project they are managing including:
- Project Integration Management
- Project Scope Management
- Project Time Management
- Project Cost Management
- Project Quality Management
- Project Human Resource Management
- Project Communications Management
- Project Risk Management
- Project Procurement Management
- Apprise Deputy Operations Manager of employee performance on particular projects.
- Provide information to Deputy Operations Manager on future projects so they can manage staffing.
- Assist in informal development of other employees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- P.E. license required, North Carolina PE is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in consulting or engineering.
- Experience working on DOT design projects is required, experience with multiple DOTs is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of project management experience is preferred.
- Deltek Vantagepoint or similar CRM and Project Management software experience.
- MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil-3D software experience.
