What Your Day Will Look Like
As a roadway design engineer, you’ll support transportation improvement projects with the design and detailing of local, county, and state roadway and highway projects. You’ll assist with geometric analyses and calculations using established design criteria and standard software. The roadway design engineer reports to the project manager.
What You'll Do
- Aid in developing typical sections, alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross-sections.
- Support the design team in creating design documentation, plans, and reports for specific tasks and quantity calculations.
- Maintain compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
- Perform engineering calculations and estimates.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum four years of transportation engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Proficiency in Bentley Open Roads modeling software.
