Road Saw Operator

Essential Functions

• Maintain saws, equipment, and tooling.
• Verify measurements and cut depths are accurate.
• Utilize daily job brief and set up jobs accordingly with proper safety measures.
• Aid Crew Leader in physical labor at underground utility construction/reconstruction and maintenance work.
• Collaborate with supervisor and foreman to schedule work and safely perform saw cutting.
• Perform daily inspection paperwork daily and notify supervision of any issues.
• Adhere to all DOT Safety Regulations/Requirements.
• Train others in safe efficient operation of equipment.
• Complete misc. duties as assigned.

Success Factors

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift.
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers.
• Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy.
• Ability to use English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports.
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills.

Experience And Education

• A high school diploma or equivalent is desired.
• Experience working with underground utilities is desired.
• Experience operating a road saw is required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
• Minimum two years of experience core drilling, concrete sawing, cutting and/or removal experience.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

• Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license and have a good driving history.
• Must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must possess, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
• Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
• Must possess proficiency in any or all of the following diamond or demolition tools: wall saw, core drill, flat saw, handsaws, ring saws and/or compressor tools.
