Job Summary

Talented Medical Solutions Contract In-Office | Templeton, CA, United States
Day Shift, 4 x 10s, M - F 06:30 - 15:00 or 08:30 to 17:00, no set off day.
Must have RNFA and experience in ortho, ortho totals, gyn, and general surgery.
One night of call per week and one weekend per month.
Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Our facility in Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977.
Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services.
Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.

Job Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience:
    • Graduate of a school of nursing
    • Certification of completion of an approved didactic RNFA course
    • Three years scrub and circulate experience in an acute care facility
    • Annual surgeon review
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Current RN license in state of practice
    • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
    • Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS OR HS-PALS OR RQIPALS) certification
    • Current Professional Liability insurance

Essential Functions

  • Assures patients personal needs are met.
  • Assist in reducing noise level of nursing unit.
  • Participates in the Standards of Conduct.
  • Shows a commitment to co-workers.
  • Works as a team to assure all patients have their needs met.
  • Maintains patient, co-worker, and hospital privacy.
  • Documentation is clear, concise, and legible.
  • Delivers a clear, concise report.
  • Completes all assigned quality monitors as directed by department manager.
  • Follows infection control guidelines.
  • Obtains history/physical assessment according to unit specific nursing protocol for all age groups.
  • Reviews medical history, physical examination, and all available assessment data.
  • Identifies abnormal diagnostic data and reports to appropriate person.
  • Provides information needed to begin discharge planning in a timely manner, and to the appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to effectively function in Code Blue and other emergency situations.
  • Accurately administers and charts medications according to hospital policies and procedures using patient's 6 rights.
  • Implements and /or assists others in implementation and documentation of planned education.
  • Assesses patient's educational needs.
  • Demonstrates intraoperative competency as an RNFA: manual dexterity, suturing and litigating, providing hemostasis, exposing the surgical site, position, prepping and draping.
  • Assists in the development and education of new staff members.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings.
  • Completes education, training, and competencies for department specific skills.
  • Successfully adapts to changes in the unit, environment, and work flow.
  • Assures all patient charge items are charged and documented correctly.
  • Utilizes department resources appropriately.
  • Minimizes incidental overtime.
