Responsibilities
- Delivers safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.
- Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification.
- At times delivers safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR in the role of an RN circulator.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Graduate from a school of nursing. Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components.
- Minimum Experience: Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience. If working in the CVOR, minimum experience of three years as an RN or Surgical Tech in the CVOR.
- Required Certifications: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Licensure/Certification: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- RN First Assistant certification (CRNFA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, depending on patient population.
