Job Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor wounds.
- Clean and bandage as required.
- Implement the wound/ostomy/continence treatment plan of care.
- Explain procedures, medications, and treatment to be administered to patient and authorized friend or family member.
- Adjust teaching format to ensure patient and home support learning and understanding.
- Auxiliary medical providers with treatments and procedures as necessary.
- Maintain monitoring of patient for adverse patient response to wound/ostomy/continence treatments.
- Administer medications as applicable, knowing their actions and side effects.
- Recognize and report any allergic reactions and the patient’s response to drugs.
- Accurately and timely document patient findings, patient condition, visit details, plan of care, discharge plan and other pertinent input.
- Communicate with physician assessment findings, patient conditions, critical laboratory results, and other pertinent findings.
- Delegate tasks to other team members, as needed, to meet patient care needs in an efficient and effective manner.
- Contribute to discharge planning to provide information for timely discharge and appropriate continuity of care post hospitalization for the wound/ostomy patient.
Education Requirement
- Minimum: Associate of Science from an accredited school of Nursing
- PREFERRED: Bachelor of Science from and accredited school of nursing
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: One (1) year as a registered nurse

- Registered Nurse
- BLS- Basic Life Support
