RN Wound Care
Job Summary
Serve as a clinical resource for the nursing staff and health care providers to assist with planning strategy of wound care either pre or post operatively, or ongoing. Ensure appropriate resource management and develop a safe and appropriate discharge plan in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Be responsible for direct nursing intervention, provided to a variety of age populations and diagnostic categories based on the physician-developed plan of care and established priorities for wound care issues. Coordinate activities that promote quality outcomes and patient throughput while supporting a balance of optimal care and appropriate resource utilization. Identify potential cause(s) of delayed wound healing. Review medication and provide patient education and pain medication administration per physician order. Accurately assess the pain levels and effects of administered pain medications.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho
- Associate Degree in nursing required, BSN preferred
- Wound care experience preferred
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification (offered during new hire orientation)
