RN - Wound Care and Ostomy

About the role

Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate wound and ostomy care for a specific patient group.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and treat complex wounds such as surgical wounds, ulcers, decubitus ulcers, feeding tube sites, and abscesses.
• Develop and implement treatment plans.
• Manage infections.
• Educate healthcare staff on proper wound care practices.

Requirements

• Nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Active RN license.
• Certification in Wound Care (WCC) or Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN).

Skills & Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Perform physical movements such as gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.

Key Duties

• Prescribe and oversee wound care.
• Assess wounds.
• Monitor infections.
• Educate team members to ensure safe and effective wound management.
