About the Role
The RN Weekender in the Cardiac Neuro ICU provides professional nursing care, assessing patient conditions, recognizing changes, planning and evaluating treatments, and documenting observations. They delegate tasks appropriately, collaborate as part of a team, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient progress in a critical care setting
- Employ critical thinking to recognize and respond to patient changes
- Delegate care tasks to staff members
- Collaborate with team members to meet unit goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing (preferred) or Associate Degree with a plan to attain a Bachelor's within five years
- Minimum of 5 years of critical care RN experience
- Current Illinois RN license
- CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS)
- ACLS certification within six months of hire
