About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a pivotal role in our healthcare team by overseeing staff assignments and providing comprehensive supervision of resident care. Your responsibilities include ensuring the highest degree of quality resident care by adhering to established policies and procedures, following the guidance of the Director of Nursing (DON), and collaborating with both professional and nonprofessional personnel.

Responsibilities

Clinical

• Complete all required RN record-keeping forms and charts during a resident's admission, discharge, transfer, and other important events, ensuring proper filing in the resident's chart or forwarding to relevant departments.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, including arranging transportation and packing.
• Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, wound care, specimen collection, and other medical procedures as outlined by facility policies.

Supervision

• Collaborate with facility consultants as required and implement recommended changes under the guidance of the DON.
• Investigate and address complaints and grievances, providing oral and written reports to the DON.
• Exchange nursing reports at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Conduct daily resident checks to ensure prescribed treatments are administered correctly and assess physical and emotional well-being.
• Keep the DON informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a recognized RN program with current licensure in the state of Kansas.
• Strong leadership abilities and willingness to collaborate with diverse personnel.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
