About the Role
The Weekend Nursing Supervisor is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for the overall nursing care and service on their shift. This includes the accurate and timely administration of medications and treatments, documentation, and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on the assigned shift.
- Administers direct care as necessary.
- Gives and receives shift reports.
- Rounds twice per shift to ensure proper care is rendered in a safe and clean environment.
- Keeps physicians and families informed of changes in residents’ conditions.
- Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.
- Maintains the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
- Maintains accurate documentation of all care rendered.
- Responds to the resident emergency call system.
- Interfaces with other disciplines to ensure continuity of care and services.
- Accompanies physicians during rounds.
- Encourages restorative care to maximize resident independence.
- Participates in family/resident counseling as needed.
- Assists with the orientation and evaluation of nursing personnel.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Ensures proper functioning of equipment and adequate supplies.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the State of Florida.
- At least 6 months of nursing experience in a long-term care setting (preferred).
