About the Role
This position involves overseeing nursing staff in a clinical setting, ensuring 24-hour patient care coverage, and supervising staff assignments based on patient needs and staff skills. The role requires acting as a clinical resource, participating in staff recruitment and education, mentoring team members, managing compliance with policies and regulations, and contributing to performance improvement initiatives. The candidate will provide direct patient care when necessary, maintain supply inventories, assume Nurse Manager duties in their absence, and support departmental development through participation in programs like clinical ladder and education initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Staff scheduling, supervision, and clinical consultation.
- Participate in staff recruitment, orientation, and education.
- Mentor and evaluate staff performance, support professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with policies and standards, participate in quality improvement.
- Provide direct patient care as needed and manage supply inventories.
- Act as a liaison between staff and management, and assume Nurse Manager responsibilities in their absence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school with a current RN license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or evidence of planned completion within two years.
- Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- CPR certification required; professional specialty certification encouraged.
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills with the ability to mentor staff and manage operational tasks.
