RN Triage - Pediatrics

Position: RN Triage – Pediatrics Location: Elmhurst Role Overview: Provide patient telephone assessments, direct patients to appropriate care, and offer home medical advice using nursing skills. Manage high-risk complaints by referring patients to emergency services and coordinate follow-up appointments. Assist in clinical procedures, record vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and perform immunizations and diagnostic tasks. Key Responsibilities Review voicemails and communicate directly with patients via phone or Mychart.Evaluate patient needs, provide medical instructions, and ensure understanding through teach-back methods.Identify urgent cases and direct patients to emergency departments when necessary.Arrange appropriate follow-up care and assist in clinical settings.Perform diagnostic and procedural support, including immunizations and specimen collection. Qualifications & Skills Current Illinois RN licensure (required).Bachelor’s Degree in Science (preferred).1+ year of telephone triage experience (preferred).CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required).
