About the role

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Grapevine as a Trauma Process Improvement Coordinator RN. You'll work with the Manager of Trauma Programs to manage the Trauma Performance Enhancement Program, overseeing trauma care services to ensure excellent attention and recovery for patients.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include creating a Trauma Process Improvement Program, ensuring the trauma program meets local regulations and accreditation standards, tracking patient care issues, and assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating processes and education improvements for trauma patient care.

  • Track patient care issues in trauma process improvement and ensure resolution for each one
  • Integrate the trauma registry into the trauma PI process
  • Fuse trauma PI strategies with broader hospital or system PI strategies
  • Update Trauma Department Dashboards and review PI project results for dashboard metrics to assess
  • Work with the team to create trauma education programs based on research and evidence
  • Provide trauma education in the Emergency Department and coordinate outreach education programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Registered nurse (RN) licensure
  • 3 years of RN experience, with 1 year of recent ICU or ER experience in a Trauma Level 1 or 2 hospital
  • BSN, BLS, ACLS, (ENPC within 180 days or PALS within 30 days), (ATCH or TNCC within 180 days), (Trauma Outcome Performance Improvement Course within 12 months)

Qualifications

Prefers experience in chart review/abstraction. Familiarity with trauma process improvement, its terms and standards, and awareness of established standards and procedures relating to nursing and patient care are essential.
