About the role
Join our not-for-profit organization that has provided over 100 years of housing and services to seniors with a commitment to quality care and service in a Christian environment. This position is at the Good Samaritan - Ambassador in New Hope, MN, a five-star 77-bed facility specializing in Long Term and Post-Acute care.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents.
- Collaborate with resident and family, other inter-disciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilize appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in assigned clinical setting.
- Care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Coordinate care, conduct resident assessment, provide resident education, and perform various other nursing interventions.
- Serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel that are within job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and competence level of the delegate.
- Provide adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns.
- Function within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure.
- Recognize the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
Qualifications
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including but not limited to CCNE, ACEN, and NLN CNEA.
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: $38.00 - $48.00 per hour
- Shift: Evenings, 2:30pm - 11:00pm
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week (5 shifts, 40 hours per two-week pay period)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) required
- Holiday rotation: Required
- Additional pay: $1.25/hr for all weekend hours and hours after 6pm
- Staff are cross-trained to support both long-term care and post-acute/TCU units; this position is primarily scheduled for the post-acute/TCU unit.
