About the role
As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
- Create, implement, and evaluate care plans; adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
- Build relationships and maintain professional therapeutic connections with patients and families.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower better healthcare choices.
- Assess and document learning needs regularly.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community to create care plans.
- Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
- Use problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff; recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Achieve goals through teamwork; recognize contributions and commit to growth.
- Contribute to peers’ development and show commitment to community service.
Patient Population
Post cardiotomy, cardiology interventional, post vascular surgical/interventional, advanced heart failure, etc.
Patient Ratios
1:4 Tele/PCU
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Specialized field of study must be nursing.
- RN license.
- BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting.
- Minimum of 2 years of true, recent PCU/Tele RN experience.
