About the role

The Registered Nurse at Allegheny Health Network is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care and promote patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provides transformational leadership and builds a supportive team environment.
• Assigns tasks and delegates responsibilities to LPNs and support staff based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Maintains a safe environment and intervenes promptly when necessary.
• Shares knowledge with peers and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Serves as a role model and mentor, promoting a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate clinical care and health services.
• Assesses patient conditions, develops culturally and age-appropriate care plans, and documents interventions accurately.
• Manages patient assignments across different units and ensures compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive care and promotes patient safety initiatives.
• Participates in department-specific quality initiatives and quality improvement projects.
• Ensures appropriate order sets are used and supervises the scope of practice for LPNs.
• Manages time effectively to meet work shift deadlines and promotes patient and family satisfaction.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families, resolving concerns and addressing issues.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of RN experience within the past five years.
• CPR certification.
• Completed Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 background clearances.
• Current Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state licensure through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Preferred certification in a relevant area of specialty.
