About the role
The Registered Nurse works in the Critical Care/Burn Unit at West Penn Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network (AHN). The unit cares for burn and wound patients, including those with frostbite, road rash, autoimmune conditions, and other burn classifications. West Penn Hospital is the only burn center in Western Pennsylvania verified by the American Burn Association and the American College of Surgeons, offering comprehensive care for adults and children.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in a professional practice setting.
- Assigns or delegates tasks based on patient and staff needs.
- Ensures a safe environment and appropriate patient care.
- Shares knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues.
- Participates in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care and health services.
- Promotes patient safety initiatives and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervises and evaluates assigned LPN scope of practice.
- Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient care.
- Affirms patient and family satisfaction and resolves concerns.
- Manages time effectively to meet work shift responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Current State of PA RN license or multi-state licensure through the eNLC.
- CPR certification.
- Minimum Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearances.
- Preferred certification in area of specialty.
- 1+ years of inpatient RN experience outside of orientation.
