RN Neonatal ICU (Full Time Nights, 36 Hours), West Penn Hospital

About the role

The Registered Nurse at Allegheny Health Network is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients. They also contribute to interdisciplinary teams and promote patient safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and mentorship to peers.
• Assigns tasks and delegates duties to LPNs and support staff based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Maintains a safe environment and intervenes promptly when necessary.
• Shares knowledge and skills with colleagues and participates in interdisciplinary evaluations.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and promotes patient safety.
• Supervises and evaluates LPN scope of practice as needed.
• Uses the nursing process to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Affirms patient and family satisfaction and resolves concerns.
• Manages time effectively to meet work shift requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• CPR certification.
• Minimum Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 criminal background clearances.
• One year of general RN experience preferred, with certification in an area of specialty.
