RN - Surgical/Med-Surg (Weekend)

Role Overview

Responsible for delivering and managing patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team, utilizing professional nursing knowledge and the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient status via interviews, observations, and physical exams.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Use appropriate interventions to achieve patient outcomes, monitor progress, and modify care as needed.
• Accurately document, including patient charts and reports.
• Ensure safety by troubleshooting equipment, obtaining lab specimens, and conducting bedside testing.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care, collaborate with team members, and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Provide patient education tailored to age, cultural, and developmental needs, promoting safety and understanding.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and process enhancements to improve patient satisfaction and care standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current Illinois RN license and BLS certification.
• Diploma in Nursing with demonstrated clinical knowledge and technical skills.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on patient advocacy and safety.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, professional development, and continuous improvement.
