RN Supervisor - OB/GYN Outpatient

About the role

Supports OB/GYN offices in North Port, Port Charlotte, Arcadia and Punta Gorda.

Supervises about 15-20 Medical Assistants.

Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM.

Responsibilities

• Provides follow-up contact with patients to ensure compliance with recommendations, including medication reconciliations.
• Participates in planning, implementing, and collecting data for quality improvement initiatives.
• Engages in regular huddles and communication with practices to meet patient care needs.
• Develops workflow and protocols for hospital follow-up and reviews discharge information for the electronic medical record.
• Maintains care gaps through motivational interviewing, implementation of standard orders and protocols, and patient education.
• Maintains care measures according to standards and documents and reports appropriately.
• Runs reports to identify patients who have not had appointments for up to two years and activates processes to schedule them.
• Affirms patient population needs through pre and post-visit planning, including coordination of community resource needs.
• Evaluates reports to identify patients in need of preventive care and documents, monitors, and reports efforts.
• Maintains Medicare patients for Annual Wellness Visits and establishes processes to schedule annual appointments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Critical thinking skills [Required]
• Ability to solve problems and advocate for patients [Required]
• Education: Associate's of Nursing [Required], Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
• Work experience: 1+ years of position-related experience [Required], 2+ years of position-related experience [Preferred]
• Licenses and certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) [Required], Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
