About the role

Pacific Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to assist the Assistant Director of Nursing Services in managing and directing the Nursing Services Department.

Responsibilities

• Assists in managing and directing the Nursing Services Department.
• Provides direct nursing care as necessary.
• Makes rounds to ensure nursing personnel perform their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
• Makes rounds with physicians as necessary.
• Communicates information to nursing personnel regarding new resident admissions and resident discharges and provides oversight of the admission and discharge process.
• Reviews nursing personnel medical record documentation to ensure it is appropriately and accurately descriptive of the nursing care provided.
• Contributes to the development and maintenance of written nursing policies and procedures.
• Prepares for and participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
• Supports the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
• Evaluates and implements recommendations from established committees as they may pertain to nursing services.
• Delegates to each Charge Nurse the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform his/her assigned duties.
• Ensures that all nurse aid trainees are under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Performs daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
• Reports findings to the Director.
• Sets up and participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
• Supports the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
• Evaluates and implements recommendations from established committees as they may pertain to nursing services.
• Delegates to each Charge Nurse the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform his/her assigned duties.
• Ensures that all nurse aid trainees are under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
