About the role

The Nurse Manager 2 leads a team responsible for the Hospitality-Discharge Lounge, Staffing and Patient Placement, Patient Transport, House Supervisor Team, CNA Float Pool, Clinical Lift Team, and the Transfer Center. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with standards of practice, managing clinical operations, collaborating with the Managed Service Provider, overseeing MSP invoicing, analyzing staffing trends, promoting collegial relationships, and leading the Transfer Center.

Responsibilities

• Leadership responsibility for departmental, clinical, staffing, quality, and financial management
• Ensures an effective patient care delivery system compliant with standards of practice
• Implements strategies, processes, and standards to support organizational and departmental initiatives
• Acts as primary point of contact for clinical contract/contingency staff, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
• Oversees MSP invoicing and analyzes staffing trends, performance metrics, and cost-effectiveness
• Promotes collegial relationships between Clinical Care Operations and other departments or disciplines
• Provides leadership to the Transfer Center to support efficient patient transfers and transport
• Manages various teams to ensure smooth communication and collaboration

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science, Nursing
• Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Work pace appropriate to the workload
• Effective working relationships across the Health System
• Management experience in an acute care setting
• Knowledge of Title 22 and Joint Commission Requirements
• Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data
• Experience in unit specific service line business

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships across the Health System
• Prior management experience in an acute care setting
• Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• Master of Business Administration or Master of Science in Nursing
• Professional certification
