RN - Stroke | Telemetry - Full Time - Nightshift

About the Role

Our team on 5 South is hiring nurses for a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. 5 South is a 28-bed General Medical, Telemetry, and Stroke unit providing specialized care for a variety of patients. Nurses collaborate with dedicated nursing assistants and physicians to deliver high-quality care, including stroke management, medication administration, blood transfusions, and more.

This role offers a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000 and operates on a schedule of 72 hours biweekly, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for patients with diverse needs, including stroke care, telemetry, and general medical treatment.
• Administer medications, including PCA/PCEA, intravenous therapy, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusions.
• Perform wound care and use/maintain specialized medical equipment.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
• Maintain the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Requirements

• Education: ASN required; BSN preferred. Previously grandfathered active RN’s with a Diploma from an accredited nursing school may have the ASN requirement waived.
• Experience: Minimum of one year in a hospital setting.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Maryland or a compact state with "Multi-State Privilege" designation. Specialty certification recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program™ preferred.
• Skills: Ability to apply professional nursing standards with compassion. Basic computer skills, high level of organization, and strong communication skills required.
