About the Role

Join our team on 5 South, a 28-bed General Medical, Telemetry, and Stroke unit that provides specialized care for a variety of patients. Nurses on 5 South play an essential role in delivering high-quality care, handling everything from stroke management to medication administration, blood transfusions, and more. This is a fast-paced, patient-centered environment where you'll work collaboratively with nursing assistants and physicians.

Shift: 72 hours biweekly (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM). Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care in a general medical, telemetry, and stroke unit.
  • Manage stroke care, medication administration, blood transfusions, and other specialized treatments.
  • Collaborate with nursing assistants, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of specialized medical equipment.
  • Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and a patient-centered approach.

Requirements

  • Education: ASN required; BSN preferred. Previously grandfathered active RNs who graduated from an accredited nursing school as a Diploma RN will continue to have the ASN requirement waived.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or if a resident of a state that participates in the Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement, holds a Registered Nurse License from that state designated as "Compact" or "Multi-State Privilege" (primary source verification required; additional documentation may be required by the Maryland Board of Nursing).
    • RN License from a compact state with a designation of "Single State" does not meet the requirement; nurse must obtain a Maryland license.
    • Specialty certification recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program™ preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing practice with compassion and empathy.
    • Basic computer skills required.
    • High level of organization and communication skills.
