RN Staff - Pre-Admissions Test (Part-time)
Job Description and Position Requirements
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20
Work Shift: (M-F) 8am - 4:30pm. Three 8-hr days one week and two 8-hr days the next week.
About the Role
Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.
Supervises the activities of Medical Assistants/Phlebotomist.
Performs Pre-Op assessments via visit or phone call.
Compiles needed documentation for the chart, and collaborates with physician offices to gather needed information.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Successfully completed Board Certified nursing program.
- Current Louisiana RN licensure.
- Five (5) years of Medical/Surgical Peri-operative nursing experience in a Pre-Admit, Pre-Op, Operating Room or PACU setting preferred.
- Current BLS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- EKG testing skills;
- Basic EKG interpretation skills;
- Port-a-cath access skills
Physical Demands
- Must possess good physical health.
- Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
- Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
- Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort Required
- Constant (67%-100%): talking, hearing, seeing
- Frequently (34%-66%): lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling
- Occasionally (1%-33%): climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching
